"As musicians, our mission is to use the arts as a tool to inspire and empower youth, foster unity, and ignite passion within the students of Federal Way to create positive changes for both local and global communities. This event and the charities we have chosen are dear to our hearts and we hope to rally the community's support in our endeavors"
The Fed Factor is Federal Way's first district-wide talent competition and benefit show, initially started in 2015 as an event conceived by Todd Beamer student Jonathan Nguyen and carried out by Todd Beamer alumni Whitney Lane and her committee.
Now entering it's third year, The Fed Factor is approaching a new generation of artists who are passionate about their craft!
The goal with The Fed Factor is to promote unity within the Federal Way community through showcasing performance art from talented students in its high schools, while also educating the public about great causes and charities. Teams of four acts from each high school (Todd Beamer, Thomas Jefferson, Decatur and Federal Way) will battle it out to discover who is the most talented school in the district, based upon a combination of judge's vote and audience vote. Each year, the charities the show will donate to will change as new leaders behind The Fed Factor discover more causes they are passionate about.
The committee behind The Fed Factor understands the importance of preserving and promoting performance art in the Federal Way community, which has become majorly underfunded and underestimated in recent years. The series is set to continue for years in the Federal Way community, and the committee behind The Fed Factor is intent on acquiring community support in promoting performance art as well as igniting passion to improve local and global communities.
